Erica Bol
Erica Bol is passionate about creating a sustainable future. She has an entrepreneurial mindset and believes that thinking about the future is critical for solving today’s problems.
Erica works as a freelance conscious innovation consultant. She has been helping organisations develop human-centric and purpose-driven innovations. She has been addressing organisations’ desires to positively impact both people and the planet while also ensuring their profitability
Next to working with organisations, Erica has started her own initiatives to promote a more sustainable world. Together with her brother she has set up a small company named reWrap that follows the Cradle to Cradle principle. All their products come from nature and will return to nature; they are completely biodegradable. Besides attaching value to responsible ecological choices, reWrap also wants to make a difference by requiring social production; all their products are crafted by people with a disability in a small workshop in Amsterdam.
In 2014 Erica started the European office of the Teach the Future Foundation, working with Professor Peter Bishop to set up the Teach the Future foundation in Europe. She believes that in order to get the next generation to recognise the importance of sustainability and proactively engage in changing the world it is important to teach them the future. Specifically, the Teach the Future initiative proposes that we should teach the future like we teach the past. The better prepared you are, the more you can give direction to your own future and that of the world. Erica has already visited Costa Rica to introduce the program in Latin America.
Erica is a passionate, enthusiastic and driven person. She is curious and loves exploring new cultures. She sees herself as a citizen of the world, based in the Netherlands.
