Mildred Sena Vittini

I have spent more than twenty years as a teacher in Higher Education in the Engineering Area of the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo, INTEC. Within my academic training, the degrees in Management and Productivity Master's with the APEC University and Master's in Educational Sciences with the University of Camagüey, Cuba stand out. Likewise, specialized studies in Accreditation of Engineering Programs, Coaching with Neurolinguistic Programming, Construction Management and Planning with Scenarios, among others.

In the context of Higher Education, I have played various roles in accreditation processes for engineering programs, including being a member of the evaluation team for the Regional Engineering Accreditation System. Similarly, I have participated in several processes of reform and curriculum design, adviser and jury of theses in various engineering degree and postgraduate programs for several universities in the country.

I have participated as a speaker in national and international events in countries such as Peru, Colombia, Panama and Puerto Rico. Together, I have been a member for several years of the Technical Review Committee for organizations such as the Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions, LACCEI, the Institute for Quality and Accreditation of Computing, Engineering and Technology Programs, ICACIT and the PRISMA Magazine of the Technological University from Panama.

Jointly, in other work scenarios I have been a project consultant for public and private companies on issues related to my areas of academic training and specialties. I am currently studying doctoral studies in Environmental Sciences at INTEC where I investigate social perceptions and conservation in Protected Areas and Biosphere Reserves.

Personally, I define myself as a resilient, optimistic, cheerful person capable of seeing the best in the midst of the hard and sad moments of life. I firmly believe that every circumstance can be transformed into something enriching as long as we can clothe ourselves with the inner strength, hope and perseverance that we possess. I also believe that our contexts are and will be better to the extent that we are willing to be a bridge, a point of support, a light and/or an anchor for those who require them. For this, I always keep in mind that, like me, the value of people is not linked to their material possessions, nor to their academic preparation, nor to their social relationships, but is linked to their dignity as a human being. Because this makes us equal and allows us to respond without cultural, economic or social barriers. It allows us to understand that each person within their context is capable of giving a little of themselves to raise the hope of a better tomorrow for those around them.
