Jasmine Ward
Jasmine Ward is a social ecologist for the FEV and is based in Guatemala. She has a master’s degree in forestry, specialising in forest landscape restoration, from Bangor University in the United Kingdom. Her dissertation project was carried out through a research placement at CATIE and explored indigenous Mayan participation and perceptions of landscape restoration in Guatemala’s Western Highlands, focussing on governance structures, local knowledge, cultural traditions, and upscaling solutions. Alongside her work with the FEV, she works in the Maya Biosphere region of Guatemala on biological corridor restoration, Maya forest gardening, and sustainable living. She has international development and environmental project experience in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
