Gloria Bernal
Lawyer graduated from the University of Medellin. I began my professional practice as an assistant to Eduardo Montealegre Lynett in Bogotá. I have held positions in the Treasury and in the Personería of Medellín as a Criminal Delegate, I worked at the Temis publishing house, I have been a criminal litigator for more than fifteen years and a cassationist in the Ombudsman's Office.
For two years I was Regional Director of the Technical Investigation Corps (C.T.I.) of the Attorney General's Office in Bogotá. In this activity, she directed the investigations of organized crime crimes such as drug trafficking, terrorism, kidnapping, extortion, among others.
I worked as coordinator of the team of trainers in the accusatory criminal system for officials of the Attorney General's Office; Later, I was a consultant for the State of Mexico in organizational development of the judicial police.
I worked as a principal advisor for five years in the project -ProFis- of the German International Cooperation [GIZ] in Colombia (transitional justice and gender). During the last year of my administration, I was deputy director of the ProFis project. In 2014, I joined the GIZ Peacebuilding Mission in Colombia.
Currently a criminal trial lawyer.
Director of the Master's Degree in Criminal Law and Criminology at the Universidad del Sinú and postgraduate professor at the Universidad de Medellín. She is associated with the ALPEC foundation, Colombia chapter.
Of my authorship I have six legal-criminal books; five literary and four legal-literary; the others are joint publications. The most recent edition is the book General Penalty Law. Concept, justification, limits and schemes of crime.
