At the start of the walk reflect for a moment why you are here – to find inner happiness and to ask God through the Spirit of Mother Earth for guidance and support.
Becoming Free of Your Concerns
1. Letting Go of Your Past Concerns
Walk the Path concentrating on letting go of all the bad things, regrets, relationships, sadness, stress, illness, events, anything small or large from your past life which still concerns you and creates stress and negative feelings towards yourself and your life - by letting your concerns and negative feelings go through your left hand - pointing and facing towards the ground. Repeat items as you walk
2. Letting Go of Your Future Concerns
Walk the Path concentrating on letting go of all the things you are worrying about which are yet to happen in the future – concerns and negative feelings which cause stress worrying about yourself, money, job, family, relationships, home, etc by letting your concerns and negative feelings go through your left hand - pointing and facing towards the ground. Repeat items as you walk.
3. Concentrating on the Here and Now - Your Footsteps
Walk the Path concentrating on your footsteps by counting your footsteps up to 7 and then repeat. Count each footstep 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 then repeat count 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 footsteps until you reach the end of the path.
You will find your mind needs to be free of all your past and future thoughts and concerns, as you concentrate on walking and counting.
4. Concentrating on the Here and Now – Your Breathing
Walk the Path concentrating on your breathing by counting as you breathe in - count 1,2,3,4,5, and then hold your breath in for a count of 6 & 7; repeat as you are breathing out - count 1,2,3,4,5 and then hold your breath for a count of 6 & 7. Count each breath in 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and then repeat counting each breath out 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 until you reach the end of the path.
If counting 7 is not comfortable or you feel light headed for any reason, stop, recover and find a number to count your breath in and out, which is natural and comfortable for you.
You will find your mind needs to be free of all past and future thoughts and concerns as you concentrate on walking, breathing and counting.
5. Concentrating on the Here and Now – Your Walking & Breathing
Walk the Path concentrating on your footsteps and breathing together by counting your footsteps and breaths in and out as steps 3 and 4 above together up to 7 and then repeat.
Count each footstep and breath in 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 then repeat counting each footstep and breath out 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 until you reach the end of the path.
This is not easy and will become better with practice – practice at home walking anywhere.
Caution: If practising walking exercises at home - do NOT practice breathing and counting whilst walking on the road or close to vehicles. Your mind will be concentrating on your walking and breathing and you may not notice a moving vehicle.
All walking and breathing exercises require frequent practice and having an open mind to build confidence and positive energy towards a happy and content inner self
Every moment spent worrying about the past or the future creates negative energy and is a moment lost which could have been spent as Positive Action Energy in the Here and Now
